Steve joined our staff team as the Lead Pastor in September of 2024. Steve and his wife Keisa have served in the local church in various positions of leadership and overseas as missionaries for over 33 years. They have four children ages 17-24, enjoy traveling, and outdoor activities, and are looking forward to seeing what God does in this season at Commonway Church. Steve also is a big fan of Notre Dame football and touchdown Jesus!

Pastor of Spiritual Formation
Lisa joined the staff at Commonway in August of 2021. Originally from southwest Michigan, Lisa is a graduate and former volleyball player for Michigan State University. Following college, she served with Athletes in Action – Cru for 8 years where she held a variety of leadership and discipleship roles. After AIA, she worked as a pastor in Adult Ministries at Christ Community Church in Omaha, Nebraska for nearly 8 years. While at CCC, she became ordained and earned her Master’s Degree in Christian Studies. Commonway’s vision for discipleship led her to move to Muncie and following her season as Interim Lead Pastor she returned to her passion for leading spiritual formation.

Children's Pastor
Jill Dubois joined Commonway as the Children’s Pastor in 2012. She grew up in rural Wabash before venturing to Muncie where she studied elementary education at Ball State. Jill taught in a local school until she transitioned from the classroom to staying at home full-time with the birth of her first child. She finished her Masters Degree in elementary education just before starting this new adventure in children’s ministry. Jill and her husband, Kevin, live outside of Muncie with their three children.

Youth Pastor
Tyler Crandall joined Commonway as the Youth Pastor in August 2021. He is a 2007 graduate of Ball State University and has considered Muncie home since his college days. He and his wife, Erin, live in Muncie with their two daughters. Tyler served as an elementary school teacher for 12 years before joining the staff at Commonway. He spent many summers serving at Camp Barakel in Fairview, Michigan, working with middle school campers and college-aged summer staff. Through his experiences teaching, working in camp ministry, and a natural curiosity, he has a myriad of random skills that he loves to use to serve the youth of Commonway, the Church, and the Muncie community. Tyler loves playing music, tolerates exercising, and relishes making friends.

Worship Director
Nathan Persinger joined the Commonway worship team in 2021 and stepped into the position of Worship Director in August 2025. He and his wife, Olivia, live in Muncie with their son. Nathan has played guitar since he was 11 when his dad taught him both chords to “A Horse With No Name”. Nathan has played music professionally since 2014 but, at his day job, he engraves monuments across the state of Indiana. He enjoys playing sports, TTRPG’s, and badgering his loved ones with useless trivia he heard on whichever podcast he listened to that day.

Technical and Facilities Director
David joined Commonway Church as the Technical and Facilities Director in August of 2025. After graduating from Ball State University in 2012 with a B.A. in Telecommunications, David worked for over a decade as an award-winning software developer and technology generalist for public and private sector non-profits. He lives in Yorktown with his wife, Kelly, and their two daughters, Harper and Lily. Originally from New Jersey, he cheers on his Yankees and Giants. He enjoys gaming, coding, and playing sports in his free time. David has been very involved in the church since his youth and looks forward to furthering the Kingdom of God more directly at Commonway.

Joe joined our team in the summer of 2025. He brings his years of experience to our staff team in helping us keep a big picture focus on how to best use and steward our facility.
Sacha Burkett
Communications Director
Sacha joined Commonway Church as the Communications Director in February of 2026. She earned her BFA in Studio Art, from Grand Valley State University, where she was also a member of the volleyball team. She spent 8 years in education before staying home to raise her sons. She recently earned her Digital Marketing Science Certificate from Purdue University. She is certified in Google Ads Search, Google Analytics, and Email Marketing. She lives in Muncie with her husband, Josh, and their four sons. She enjoys being with her family, reading, and going to sporting events. She is fueled by creativity, multitasking, and a belief that coffee is appropriate at any time of day.
