Sunday Night, April 21, 2024

This Sunday we’re ON for normal Youth Group. Middle School from 5-7 PM and High School from 6-8 PM. We’ll be continuing in our series called “One Step.” This week we’ll talk about how it’s OK to look at the injustice in the world and wonder, “What is God doing?” We’ll talk about how some of God’s plan for justice in the world involves using us—us joining with Him in work that’s going on for justice.

PopTarts and Palin’ Around

Sunday morning, between services, there will be “Pop Tarts and Palin’ Around” in the youth room between services from about 10:15—10:35. Pop in for a PopTart, hang out with me and maybe other volunteers and other youths, put up stickers on the Bible Reading chart if you’re ready to, and see if you can beat Christy Close’s high score on the Pinball Machine. It’s getting bad guys. I can’t beat her and she’s starting to really lord it over me. I need someone to take her down.

Youth Sunday—May 19

Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 19—Youth Sunday at Commonway Church. During the Sunday morning worship service, we will highlight our graduating Seniors and have student serving in different capacities throughout the church. I’m talking greeters, ushers, communion servers, and even giving announcements! Click below to sign up and let us know the areas where you’re interested in serving. Please sign up by May 5.

S.O.S. Memphis—Summer 2024

We are again planning to partner with Service Over Self in Memphis, TN this summer. We have secured a handful of spots for the week of June 23—28 to participate in their summer camp program. Last summer three students and I attended and helped with roofing projects in Memphis. It was an amazing week and I’m pumped to go back! Please click below for the initial signup! One-Year Bible Reading Plan

Several students, volunteers, a few parents, and some youth group alumni have been working on the reading plan and been able to put up some stickers on the sticker chart! It’s been a good practice for me and I’ve heard good things from others taking part, too. This plan doesn’t even have month names on it, it’s just numbered, so there’s no bad time to start!
